Moments of apprehension this afternoon on the snowy paths of Sila National Park. A man, in difficulty during an excursion in the snow, found himself unable to continue along a path in the area of Perilli Hillsnear Lorica.
The man then contacted the 118 Operations Centerrequesting emergency services. The Alpine and Speleological Rescue Calabria – CNSAS (National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps) has activated the geolocalization procedure through the innovative system SMS Locatorused by the Alpine Rescue Service. This tool, capable of precisely identifying the position of a person in difficulty through a simple message sent to their phone, has proven to be fundamental in reducing intervention times.
A team of technicians from Sila Lorica Alpine Rescue Station she intervened promptly, confronting him skiing the difficult conditions of the terrain, made treacherous by the deep snow. Once reached, the man was found in good physical conditionalthough particularly affected by the incident.
The firefighters worked together with the CNSAS during all phases of the rescue. The recovery of the person in difficulty was carried out by the men of the Cosenza Command who, in the late evening, accompanied the unfortunate person near the dam of Lake Arvo, entrusting him to the healthcare personnel of Suem118 for the necessary treatment.
The technicians also participated in the recovery of the man Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza (SAGF) of the station Cosenza.
