A meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump “is possible, but there is no need now”. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared this in an interview with the Russian agency TASS, specifying that at the moment “it is instead necessary to work on Ukrainian territorial issues”.

Peskov’s words come as the conflict between Moscow and Kiev continues to keep international tensions high. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense systems destroyed 164 Ukrainian drones over several areas of the country overnight, including the Russian regions, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

Russian authorities have not reported casualties or significant damage, but the intensity of the attacks and Moscow’s response confirm the high level of alert in the theater of conflict.
