Today a delegation of the Crotone Democratic Party and the Crotone democratic conference, together with the senator Nicola Irto, to the Guarantor for the municipal prisoners Tina Zaccato And to the Democratic Calabria, he visited the prisoners of the Castrovillari district house.
This important initiative is part of the national campaign “Mothers outside the stigma and prison with their boys and girls”. We wanted to bring our attention and our solidarity to an often invisible reality, directly gathering the instances and testimonies of the women held. Listening to their voices is essential to fully understand the challenges they face and in order to be able to elaborate concrete proposals aimed at protecting their rights and those of their children.
We thank you detained for their opening and availability in sharing their experiences, as well as the Penitentiary Police staff who accompanied us with professionalism and humanity during the morning.
We will continue to work with determination so that the theme of the rights of detained people and mothers in prison with their children remains at the center of the political and social debate.
