If everything goes as predicted, this afternoon the motion of no confidence presented by the opposition against Schifani will be rejected by the Ars with 43 votes against and a maximum of 26 in favor. But it is on the details of this apparently obvious vote that the game is being played behind the scenes.
A step back. Pd, 5 Syelle and Controcorrente presented the motion of no confidence in the aftermath of the investigation that overwhelmed the DC of Cuffaro and Carmelo Pace. Among the protests aimed at Schifani is the construction of an alliance with the Brothers of Italy and the League which in turn sees the president of the Ars Gaetano Galvagno, the councilor for Tourism Elvira Amata and the vice president of the Region Luca Sammartino under investigation. Then there are substantive disputes that concern cases of medical malpractice and the management of the water crisis and waste emergency.
The point, however, is that the Democratic Party has 11 deputies, the 5 Stars have the same number and only one is the exponent of Controcorrente. The total is 23 out of 70 deputies. Cateno De Luca has announced that his 3 deputies from South calls North will vote with the opposition despite having been in the orbit of the majority for a year. And so we will reach 26 votes in favour.
