Jorge Martin on Ducati Pramac won the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix in Motegi. In second position the world champion Pecco Bagnaia on official Ducati. Third Marc Marquez with Honda. The race was stopped on the 13th lap out of the 24 scheduled due to heavy rain which prevented the drivers from having a good view of the track. According to the regulations, all the points normally expected were awarded as the drivers completed more than half of the race. Bagnaia is first in the drivers’ standings with a 3-point advantage over Martin.

«I was convinced I could still do well. When it started raining I tried to see what the others were doing and decided to stop to change tyres. After the pit stop there was a bit of confusion, I wasn’t sure what positions I was in, but I felt I had a great feeling with the bike and I went back to the front. I’m happy with this other victory.” These are the words of Jorge Martin after his success in the Japanese Grand Prix, which puts him just 3 points away in the standings from leader Francesco Bagnaia, who finished second with the Ducati: «It’s the first podium for me in the rain, I’m very happy. The situation was very risky, maybe I could have even won but that’s okay. Jorge gained more points but I’m still happy”, said the Italian at the end of the race. Third place for Marc Marquez on Honda: «I had fun, when he started raining more intensely I attacked more and increased the pace. But then in the end there was too much water on the track to continue racing”, declared the Spaniard.
