The appointment – until proven otherwise – is set for spring 2026, which seems very far away and instead is very close, at least for the times of politics. And the hourglass that marks the time that is missing from the next municipal elections continues to scroll inexorablely. Even if there is so much sand inside the hourglass, however every grain that descends makes the electoral climate increasingly intriguing and nervous. And the tension in the city continues to climb. Especially within the coalitions (center -right, center -left, civic or other) which are less cohesive than what they try to appear outside. In fact, there are pushes that aim to “pull” the coalitions of here rather than there, or to earn a place in the sun in exchange for future considerations … our city, therefore, is preparing to live well in advance An election campaign for the renewal of the city council which is already announced electrifying and very participatory.
“Who will be the next candidates for mayor?” This is the most popular question in every corner of Reggioafter that – now became a catchphrase – «which will do Peppe Scopelliti? » Almost nobody has the answer in the pocket yet, however the leaders of the parties are starting to browse identikit and profiles of the subjects who could be indicated to guide the respective coalitions in the dispute for the “conquest” of Palazzo San Giorgio. While the center -right seems to move carefully in an attempt to avoid a Harakiri as happened in 2020, it is in the center of the center -left that there are the most agitated water after some subjects (intellectuals, trade unionists, associations) have thrown the stone into the pond by addressing a heartfelt appeal to Anna Nuceralong-term policy of the left Reggina, to take the field to manage post-fhalcomaties. Professor Nucera, who was also part of the Falcomatà administration, convened a press conference for tomorrow morning and will make her voice heard.
