The new year starts where the old one ended: appointments, programs, planning. And controversy. In fact, the Sunday reflections of Mayor Nicola Fiorita did not go unnoticed as he affirmed two concepts at the end of 2025 that caused an “uprising”, albeit on different issues, of some opposition political forces: specifically, Action and Forza Italia.
The mayor’s statement that among the biggest problems faced “with determination” in the past year was “the escape of Action from the majority” pushed the group to protest. Councilor Stefano Veraldi challenged Fiorita to a public confrontation also with the provincial secretary Roberto Guerriero but first of all recalled that “our contribution to the majority, which lasted just under three months, without asking for prebends, was aimed at implementing concrete proposals for the city”. The exit came after “verifying that no concrete action was being implemented, with continuous postponements, and failure to respect the legitimacy of important acts”.
