Municipality of Catanzaro, the new (narrow) via di Fiorita between the desires of Azione and the former Talerico

Concern about the numbers of the new majority exists within the governing coalition of Palazzo De Nobili. The mayor’s trust Nicola Fiorita has never actually failed, at least in appearance, on this aspect but it is clear that nothing can be taken for granted after the strong shocks that led to the breaking of the pact established in the ballot with Talerico and to building an alliance with the Action group led by Valerio Donato, Fiorita’s main competitor in the 2022 elections.
It is now well known that the exit of the Talerico area from the majority has led, beyond the drastic drying up suffered by the groups linked to the regional councilor of Forza Italia, to the subversion of the balance in the Chamber. In fact the majority, to be such, should manage to have the support of those who left the moderate area of the coalition, who for their part explained that they intended to evaluate the administration’s proposals in the Chamber with respect to the prospects for the city.
In short, the administrative action – which in this phase will have to be adjusted in the light of the new Council – must be aimed at carry forward the programmatic lines indicated by Fiorita, but also to materialize the proposals of the new Calendian allies and, possibly, also managing to move in such a way as to broaden the pool of votes in the Council. It is probably no coincidence, therefore, that at the beginning of the cut the mayor had specified that he was aiming not only for a general verification but also for an expansion of the majority.
