The primary objective of ensuring separate waste collection in the city has been ensured, pending the assignment to a new company which will take place with a specific tender. At the moment it is the month of January, with the spending commitment, in twelfths, of 970 thousand euros which will guarantee coverage of the service until January 31st. A step that comes after the self-defense cancellation of the previous managerial resolution, of 24 December last, which had committed 8.7 million euros to cover the period from 1 January to 30 September, the date by which the Municipality considered (and considers) to have entrusted the service to the new contractor. NoIt was not possible to proceed with the spending commitment, nor was it possible to make another extension (there is a firm position from Anac on this matter) to Sieco, the current company that deals with the collection service. In fact, we are proceeding in the wake of an addendum to the contract, which establishes the continuation of the service until it is assigned to a new contractor identified by the Municipality or to the one who will arrive in the context of the tender, which still has to be prepared, for the Single Ato by Arrical. In the meantime, the spending commitment was made official, thus guaranteeing the continuation of an “essential, irrepressible, public interest” service, as explained in the executive act, the interruption of which “may cause dangerous situations” for the public hygiene.
