The press conference for the presentation of services of public interest that will be carried out through voluntary organizations was held this morning in the “Falcone e Borsellino” Council Room.
The municipal managers Raffaella Paturzo and Francesco Iorno were present with the deputy mayor Sandro Cretella.
Present were the vice president of ASD Isola Ambiente Apnea Mario Scicchitano and the president of Auser Luigia Clerici.
Present was the president of the III Council Commission Antonella Passalacqua who in recent years supported the initiative of the “Grandparents Vigili”
During the meeting with the press, the assignment of services aimed at improving the accessibility and usability of municipal and school services, as well as promoting the protection of urban and environmental decorum, was announced.
The assignment was arranged in favor of the associations ASD Isola Ambiente Apnea (leader) and Auser Volontariato Crotone (principal), for a total amount of €30,000.00.
The volunteers will collaborate to improve accessibility in the municipal offices, in particular in the concierge/entrance areas and to carry out control and monitoring activities in municipal parks and villas, along city streets and on public beaches, also contributing to the fight against waste abandonment.
Furthermore, after the positive experience of recent years, the “vigilant grandparents” are returning who will carry out activities during the entry and exit of pupils from municipal schools
Deputy Mayor Sandro Cretella highlighted “how the objective of this initiative represents a concrete step towards a more welcoming city, accessible and attentive to the needs of citizens, in particular the most fragile subjects. At the same time, it contributes to guaranteeing concrete support for the organisation’s activities, strengthening collaboration with the world of volunteering and enhancing the positive energies of the territory”
The project aims to strengthen the synergy between the municipal administration and Third Sector associations, promoting participatory and supportive management of services of public interest for the benefit of the entire community.
