The provincial assembly of the Italian Left AVS took place, during which – in addition to national and regional events – the municipal events that are fueling tensions inside and outside Palazzo San Giorgio were addressed in substance. «Let’s go back to the main road, the one made of Politics (with a capital letter) and public confrontation between political subjects (the real ones), the one guided by the basic values of our political-cultural field and by the programs for the future of the community – warned the secretaries Pignataro and Delfino -. The latest political-administrative events in Reggio appear surreal: yet another “reshuffle” of the council, now made up of men and women who answer exclusively to the Mayor; the total absence of a coalition logic and political parties recognized on a national level, almost as if to say that the official center-left in Reggio no longer exists; the absolute domination of acronyms created around the table and of more or less civic groupings, sometimes responding to very limited individual interests. In this context, hypothesizing the construction of an alliance and a progressive coalition appears to be a sort of mirage: with what seriousness and with what perspective can we present ourselves to the voters of Reggio?”.
