Lorenzo Musetti’s feat as he reaches the semi-finals of the Wimbledon tournament. In the quarterfinals, the Tuscan tennis player (n. 25 ATP) beat the American Taylor Fritz (n.12) in five sets with the score of 3-6, 7-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in about three and a half hours of play. In the semifinals Musetti will face the Serbian Novak Djokovic.
The words of the semi-finalist
At the end of the match, Musetti, who in the fifth set raised the revs of the engine, leaving only crumbs to an exhausted American (coming from another five sets against Zverev), appeared euphoric. “I still don’t realize how much I’ve done. It’s fantastic to play here, I’m happy to be in the semifinals. Thanks to everyone who supported me”: these were Lorenzo Musetti’s words at the end of the match won against Taylor.
“I played my best tennis at the end, I didn’t start well – added the Tuscan tennis player – Fritz dominated with the serve, I didn’t return well. I reacted well in the second set, I changed my attitude and this made the difference. Not only today, but also throughout the tournament. I hope to maintain it on Friday too”.
“Djokovic? He knows the grass better than me… We’re talking about a legend, he’s won many Wimbledons, he’s done unthinkable things. We know each other well, it will be a great fight. One of the most complicated challenges, but I’m ambitious and I like challenges.”
