What is Naspi?
There Naspi It is a monthly allowance provided byINPS to subordinate workers who involuntarily lose their jobs. Among the beneficiaries are:
- Apprentices
- Fixed -term workers of the public sector
- Employees fired or whose contract is finished
Situations that allow access to NASPI
Workers can access NASPI in case of:
- Dismissaleven for just cause
- Natural expiry of the contract
- Resignation for just cause (for example for failure to pay or mobbing)
- Voluntary resignation during the protected period of maternity/paternity
New 2025: requirements for voluntary resignation
From 1 January 2025, the workers who voluntarily resign or comply with a permanent contract and find a new employment must meet a further requirement to access Naspi in the event of subsequent involuntary loss of work.
The new contribution requirement
In case of dismissal after a new use, it will be necessary:
- Have matured at least 13 weeks of contribution (even non -continuous) at the new employer.
Practical example
A worker who voluntarily resigns on February 15, 2025 and is hired on March 10, 2025, but is fired on April 10, 2025, will not be able to access the NASPInot having accumulated the 13 weeks of contribution required.
If, on the other hand, the dismissal takes place on 10 July 2025, having accrued the contribution requirement, it will be able to benefit from the indemnity.
Unjustified absences: a new rule
Since 2025, aprolonged unjustified absence higher than:
- 5 days (for some CCNL)
- 15 days (for other CCNL)
will be considered as voluntary dischargeexcept for proof contrary. This excludes the worker from access to Naspi.
How to request Naspi
General requirements
To access the Naspi, the worker must:
- Be in a state of unemployment
- Have matured at least 13 weeks of contribution In the 4 years preceding the loss of work
Calculation and duration of the Naspi
The allowance is equal to 75% of the average salary of the last 4 years, with a maximum established by law and:
- A reduction of the 3% monthly starting from the 6th month (from the 8th month for those who are at least 55 years old)
- A maximum duration of 24 monthscalculated on the middle of the weeks worked in the last 4 years
Presentation of the application
The application must be submitted to INPS by 68 days from the termination of the employment relationship.
Provision of delivery
- If the application is submitted within 8 days of termination, Naspi starts from8th day after
- Otherwise, it starts from the day of submission of the application
