Tragedy almost occurred this morning, around 8.15am, in Bagnamare in Lipari, along the provincial road that connects the town center of the largest Aeolian municipality with the hamlets of Canneto and Acquacalda.
A large boulder (about 1 cubic meter) suddenly broke away from the rock face, from a height of about twenty metres, ending up on the arterial road, fortunately hitting only the rear side of a “Fiat 500” which was arriving in transit from the hamlet of Canneto and in the direction of Lipari centre. The girl who was driving suffered a bruise and a slight state of shock in the collision and was transferred to hospital to carry out the necessary investigations. His conditions, however, do not cause concern even if the fear felt by the young driver, once she realized the danger of the collapse, was notable.
