Never has the Sicilian Region had so many resources, so many billions, from the central government.” This was said in Catania by the Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies, Nello Musumeci, on the final day of the FdI demonstration, ‘Patriots in Municipality’. «The problem is the ability to plan and make the most of resources. Therefore – he added – it depends on the implementing subjects, on the program, on the objectives that they want to set”. «Partly for the sake of delegation, being Minister for Civil Protection – concluded Musumeci – I believe that a priority must be represented by the safety of our territory and public structures. We are an island with a high seismic risk and a high flood risk.”
«We must not just limit ourselves to crying over spilled milk, we must work for prevention. The truth is that we Sicilians have a sort of cultural flaw: we are moved after every tragedy; but after two or three days we forget.
