Senator Nicola Irto launches a heartfelt appeal to the Government: «The situation of the Locri court is intolerable. The works have been at a standstill for over ten years and the citizens of Locride, together with justice workers, are forced to operate in inadequate structures.” With these words, the secretary of the Democratic Party asked the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio, for urgent intervention to unblock the impasse that has been paralyzing the construction of the new Palace of Justice for too long. Irto expressed profound dissatisfaction with the response received from the minister, underlining how “the Government has not yet adopted concrete measures to resolve a situation that has been dragging on for years”. The senator also pointed the finger at the recent reform of the Public Procurement Code, which, according to him, has not produced any acceleration in the works. «Locride – he declared – is one of the areas with the highest unemployment rate in Italy, marked by serious social problems. We can no longer tolerate the absence of the State in a territory where legality must be forcefully affirmed.”
