The Provincial Health Authority of Catanzaro informs that the activity of free-choice paediatricians in hospitals has begun. In April the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the ASP and the Federation of Free Choice Paediatricians, in May already in the wards: the local paediatricians started activities to support their hospital colleagues, also covering weekend and night shifts. The rapid launch of this synergy was necessary precisely for the migration of some hospital doctors to the area aimed at covering shortage areas. This is an innovative agreement, welcomed with great satisfaction because it entails various positive effects. If on the one hand it contributes to strengthening a staff that is always suffering (in addition to the doctors who have moved to the area, two recently hired paediatricians have resigned) on the other it introduces a positive synergy for all the doctors involved who mutually enrich each other with specific experiences and skills, with a view to an increasingly indispensable professional integration between hospital and territory. “We are confident in ever-increasing membership of the specific list, to further strengthen a precious collaboration,” concludes the note, shared between the Healthcare Company and the Federation of Free-Choice Paediatricians.
