The Fire Brigade of the Provincial Command of Vibo Valentia went into action in Pizzo, in the Seggiola area, to deal with a potentially dangerous situation generated by some unstable trees positioned on a sheer ridge. The particularly impervious conformation of the area made it necessary to use the advanced SAF – Alpine Fluvial Speleo techniques, which allow operators to move in extreme contexts with maximum safety and efficiency. Thanks to these specialized procedures, the staff reached the unsafe trees positioned on the slope and proceeded with their controlled cutting. The operation, carried out with great professionalism, made it possible to secure the entire ridge, eliminating the risk of subsidence or collapse towards the area below, particularly frequented by residents and tourists.
