In Strongoli, the Carabinieri of Cirò Marina reported the owners of three businesses to the Crotone Prosecutor’s Office for violations of the consolidated environmental law.
In particular, a 57-year-old agricultural entrepreneur was reported for having created a deposit of pomace directly on the land with the spilling of the water directly onto the same, as well as for not having prevented the spillage of liquid from some tanks for collecting the vegetation water of the treated material, while a second local entrepreneur, 60 years old, was reported for having favored the spreading of the vegetation water of the treated material on his adjacent agricultural land, without being in possession of specific authorization documentation from the type of certified notification of commencement of activity or single environmental authorisation.
Finally, following a further check – carried out in this case together with personnel from the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Cirò – a third entrepreneur, a 56-year-old, was reported for a similar violation.
The inspection activity, which is carried out at provincial level, is part of a broader initiative to protect the environment and workers, in agreement and with the coordination of the Crotone Public Prosecutor’s Office directed by Domenico Guarascio.
