Father and son, aged 47 and 22 respectively, involved in the brawl that took place last July 4th on the Crotone seafront, go from house arrest to prison. For both, the precautionary measure was aggravated for different reasons. The fight began when the 22-year-old, riding a bicycle, hit a little girl.
The accident had provoked the reaction of the little girl’s father, a 40-year-old local man, who had hit the cyclist, causing him to fall. From there a scuffle arose, in which the 47-year-old, the cyclist’s father, also took part, culminating with an extreme gesture: the little girl’s father severed part of the cartilage of the 47-year-old’s right ear with a bite.
The three ended up under house arrest: a measure also confirmed by the judge.
The referral for these facts had a decisive impact on the 22-year-old’s position. The young man, in fact, was already serving a sentence of 5 years and 5 months under house arrest for attempted murder because in October 2025 he had stabbed a 66-year-old cyclist, after having protested because the car in which the boy was traveling was occupying the cycle path.
His involvement in the brawl caused the benefit of house arrest to expire and the boy ended up in prison.
The dynamic is different for the 47-year-old father. During the usual checks of the police cars, the officers noted his absence in the house where he was confined due to the facts relating to the brawl. The arbitrary removal cost him a charge for escape and the immediate replacement of house arrest with precautionary custody in prison.
