“The signing of the contract for the design of the reclamation of the Falcata area represents another important step forward towards the start of work to reclaim one of the most beautiful areas of Messina. The Port System Authority of the Strait – the implementing body identified by the Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development for the use of the 20 million euros allocated for the reclamation thanks to the Siracusano amendment – has signed an agreement with Studio Femia, which will now have four months to produce the technical-economic feasibility project for ‘Falcata Revival’. It is positive that after the Cipess resolution we are proceeding with a well-scheduled timetable. We have waited decades and now that we have brought home so many resources It is essential to run to give the city one of the most beautiful and fascinating dials“. So says Matilde Siracusano, Undersecretary for Relations with Parliament and Forza Italia MP from Messina.
“The redevelopment of large areas of Messina – the neighborhoods with shanty towns, the Falcata Zone, the Real Cittadella, and many other historic buildings in a state of degradation and abandonment – has always been at the center of my political commitment, both in Parliament and, for almost two years, in the Meloni government. From 2018 to today we have achieved important goals for the city – even the construction of the Bridge over the Strait, considered impossible by many, has had a great acceleration – and we will reach others. I write ‘we have’ because a team works alongside me, composed of Forza Italia Messina and many professionals of absolute value, which has been fundamental to achieving these results. A few days ago, the team of collaborators I rely on was enriched with the appointment of the lawyer Francesco Fiorillo to the group of my legal advisors to the Presidency of the Council. Welcome among us and good work” concludes Siracusano.
