“The events in the north will lead to a dramatic turn in the fighting in the area.” This was stated by an Israeli source from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s delegation to the US, quoted by Channel 12 TV. According to another source reported by Kan TV, “the disaster at Majdal Shams could change the direction of the war”.

Netanyahu has convened the Israeli security cabinet immediately upon his early return from the United States, the Israeli prime minister’s office said.

The 11 victims of the rocket launched from Lebanon on the Druze-Israeli town of Majdal Shams in northern Israel were children and young people. Hezbollah is responsible for the massacre of innocent children. There are 30 wounded, 6 of them in serious condition. This is the most serious incident that has affected the civilian population” since Hezbollah began shooting at Israel after October 7, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari told Israeli television.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is holding a security meeting with military leaders including Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and officials from the northern front.

“For Israel, this is a Hezbollah action,” the IDF said, based on “an assessment of the situation and the intelligence we have.” Israeli Foreign Minister Katz said he spoke with Netanyahu after Hezbollah’s attack on Majdal Shams, without providing details of the conversation. “There is no doubt that Hezbollah has crossed all the red lines,” he told Channel 12, reported by the Times of Israel. “We are facing an all-out war,” he added, insisting that Israel will exact an even higher price from Hezbollah. Israel will have “full support” from the United States and Europe, Katz said, without providing details of what will change in Israel’s actions.

Hezbollah denies being behind the attacks, however.

Israel has submitted a proposal on truce and hostages’

The Hamas Health Ministry in Gaza, quoted by media, reported that “30 people were killed and more than 100 wounded” in the IDF raid in Deir al-Balah, in the center of the Strip. According to the same source, it “was an attack on a field hospital” located next to “the school that was hit.” The IDF explained that it hit the school complex in which “there was a command and control center” of Hamas. Meanwhile, the Gaza Civil Defense reported that at least 170 people have died in Khan Yunis since the start of the Israeli assault. “The occupation continues to commit massacres against civilians without any deterrence and with the criminal cover provided by the American administration.
“We call on the international community and the United Nations to break the policy of silence and take measures to force the occupation to end its crimes,” Hamas said in a statement condemning an Israeli air strike that reportedly killed dozens of people today after hitting a school used by displaced people in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza. The Guardian reports.
Gaza’s civil defense agency said the school was home to around 4,000 displaced people who had taken shelter there.

The death toll in Gaza has risen to 39,258, including 83 in the last 24 hours, the Hamas Health Ministry said. The wounded are 90,589, according to the same source.

The submission of the proposal within two days had been announced by Netanyahu after the meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House. Netanyahu, meeting with the families of the hostages, also in Washington, had said that he “would not delay the agreement” and that the proposal would be presented to Hamas within that time frame.
Among the new conditions on which the prime minister insisted most is that of continuing Israeli control of the ‘Philadelphia Corridor’, the strip of land between Gaza and Egypt, to prevent Hamas from smuggling weapons as has happened in past years.
