Reggina, everyone united towards the goal

Watchword for 2026: compactness. This emerges from the end-of-year toast in which Reggina involved its management, politics and the press in a meeting that took place at the Oasis of Reggio Calabria. For next year the objective is all too clear: to take the top, aware that the comeback that has begun must be finalized. The task is arduous, but not impossible for a team that seems to have found the square of the circle after the initial difficulties.
«Up until now – said the owner Ballarino – we have done nothing. We tried to fix what was wrong. In dark moments there has always been a desire for redemption and to resume a path that we had lost.” For a few weeks the environment has found unity again and even the fans’ protests against the ownership have given way to unconditional support for Torrisi and his players.
«We owe this recovery – highlighted Ballarino – to our fans, who in the last period have been close to the team and the boys have felt close to the Amaranth people. We know what it means to have our fans on our side.”
«Reggina – recalled president Virgilio Minniti – is not just a football team. It embraces our entire territory. It is belonging and for this reason it must be protected. For this 2026 I hope that satisfaction will come on a sporting level. With Dr. Ballarino we aim to strengthen the company and create positive actions for Reggina.”
Present were the general director Giuseppe Praticó, the director of the technical area Pippo Bonanno and the club manager Antonio Cormaci. Representing politics are Senator Tilde Minasi, the vice mayor of Reggio Calabria Mimmo Battaglia, the metropolitan vice mayor Carmelo Versace, the regional municipal councilors Paolo Brunetti and Carmelo Romeo and the councilor with responsibility for Sport Giovanni Latella.
The team resumed training yesterday afternoon after a week’s break during the Christmas holidays. On Sunday 4 January we go on the pitch against Castrumfavara. There is news regarding some players who had had some difficult problems: Barillà, Porcino and Rosario Girasole have started running. Obviously it remains to be understood when the conditions for total availability will exist for the three, but it is certainly an important first sign. Adejo and Palumbo seem the closest to recovery, considering that there should soon be talk of a definitive return to the group. Today, Torrisi’s men are scheduled to train at 10am.
