Victory had to be and victory it was. Reggina beats Ragusa and scores their third victory in the first four championship matches. A real necessity to keep up with the leaders. The match against the Sicilians is decided by Rajkovic. The Serbian center forward made the most of an excellent play by Bonacchi who, in the second half, dribbled past several opponents and from the right he put a ball in the middle that only had to be pushed into the net. The skill of the attacker, in his first start paired with Barranco, was to be found in the right place at the right time. A three-point goal that allows Reggina to overcome an opponent who has proven to be a very tough nut to crack.
In the first half Erra’s team ran very little danger, even risking finding the advantage with a nice volley from Ruffino. In the second half the music changed. Pergolizzi’s team had a much more aggressive approach, managing to collect scoring opportunities in series. Circumstances also determined by the decline of Ragusa who had been almost perfect in the first half. Once they found the advantage, however, the amaranth team made the mistake of not being able to close the match. Many counterattacking opportunities were not exploited to the fullest and there was even the risk of conceding an equaliser. First with Bonilla who kicked high alone in front of Martinez immediately after the 1-0 goal and in the final with Ejjaki. The former player arrived in the area alone and first saw his shot blocked by a desperate slide from Girasole, then with the ball left there he shot wide. With effort, but Reggina wins.
