A draw that tastes like defeat. This is what appears from the 3-3 draw at Potenza which saw the Pythagoreans protagonists in managing to transform a calm 1-3 into an alarming 3-3 which in the final could have mocked the Pythagoreans, saved only by the intervention of the rossoblu number one ‘ Hall. «We need to improve some situations – declares Mr. Emilio Longo –. And I only know one path, that of work. We prepare matches certainly not to stay in them for 70 minutes but for the entire duration. Unfortunately this is a phase in which things go wrong for us, but it is equally clear that we must improve aspects that are not working and work towards being present in the match as a whole. Having said that, it must be underlined that there were many things done well within the match. It is clear that the comeback affects the overall evaluation.”
Changes made late?
«I don’t think so, they were done at the right time of the match. We also had to balance ourselves with the lack of a left-footed full-back when Giron left, changing the match plan, positioning ourselves with three in defence.”
«I believe that the team played the game – continues Longo – proving elastic and aggressive. The problem lies in the total stability of the team, which when put in the position of defending low suffers against opponents who have a very high achievement coefficient. Some will say that going three to one and then drawing the match is equivalent to a defeat. I look at the standings and see one more point.”
After seven days Crotone got 7 points, and lost many in the second half.
«We are not happy – concludes the rossoblù coach –, we want to do things well. We know the path, the dangers, the pitfalls, the intention is to reverse this trend as soon as possible.”
