Reggina beats Nuova Igea Virtus, achieves its third consecutive victory and relaunches itself in the race for first place. The Amaranths recover three points on leaders Siracusa (defeated at home by Sambiase) and are -4 behind Aretusei (in fourth place, but with a game to recover compared to the others).

However, Luigi Panarelli’s journey on the bench of the Sicilian team began with a defeat. The Giallorossi’s start had been very promising, thanks to the goal scored after three minutes by Trombino.

The Nuova Igea striker Virtus broke the balance of the match with a great right-footed shot from distance, making the afternoon uphill for Reggina. The Amaranths, for at least half an hour, appeared visibly affected by the cold blow they suffered and were the protagonists of an unconvincing performance.

As the minutes passed, however, Trocini’s team found order, quality of play and the possibility of benefiting from the strengths of its individuality. That of Ragusa, for example, who with a cross from the right gave Barranco a great ball to head into the net for the 1-1.

In the second half Reggina immediately started to push hard, finding the 2-1 goal scored by Nino Barillà. The captain did well to anticipate everyone on a ball crossed from the left by Grillo.

The advantage led the hosts to put the match in total control. Again on the Ragusa-Barranco axis came the hat trick, with the former Messina striker doing well at putting a low ball in the middle which his teammate easily converted into the net with the merit of being in the right place at the right time.

Renelus poker deserves applause, with the French offensive winger who first scattered opponents like pins and then, once he arrived in the area, hit the mark.
