Sicilia Express tickets are available from today, Saturday 28 March. The train, created thanks to the collaboration between FS Treni Turistici Italiani (FS Group) and the Department of Infrastructure and Mobility of the Sicilian Region, will connect Turin to Sicily on Thursday 2 April, with a return scheduled for Tuesday 7 April.
Those who choose to travel with the Sicilia Express will be able to opt for the couchette service or seats in comfortable compartments, starting from 29.90 euros for the route from Turin to Palermo or Syracuse and starting from 24.90 euros from Salerno to the two Sicilian cities.
The Easter Sicilia Express will depart on Tuesday 2 April from Turin Porta Nuova at 11.50 am and will make hop-on-ride only stops in Milan Lambrate (2.16 pm), Parma (3.36 pm), Modena (4.01 pm), Bologna Centrale (4.29 pm), Florence Santa Maria Novella (5.39 pm), Rome Tiburtina (10.29 pm) and Salerno (02.02 am). After crossing the Strait, the convoy will stop in Messina (08.40) and will be divided into two sections: the one headed to Syracuse will continue towards Taormina (10.11), Giarre-Riposto (10.34), Acireale (10.47), Catania Centrale (11.07), Lentini (11.40) and Augusta (12.04), arriving in Syracuse at 12.30pm; the section headed to Palermo will instead touch Milazzo (09.07), Capo d’Orlando (09.48), Santo Stefano di Camastra (10.23), Cefalù (10.51), Termini Imerese (11.15) and Bagheria (11.19), arriving in the Sicilian capital at 12.05.
On Tuesday 7 April the departure from Palermo will be at 12.45pm, the train will then make intermediate stops in Bagheria (12.57pm), Termini Imerese (1.29pm), Cefalù (1.58pm), S. Stefano di Camastra (2.36pm), Capo d’Orlando (3.25pm), Capo d’Orlando (3.25pm) with arrival in Messina at 5.05pm. The section coming from Syracuse will leave at 1.55pm with stops in Augusta (2.14pm), Lentini (2.34pm), Catania Centrale (2.59pm), Acireale (3.17pm), Giarre Riposto (3.31pm), Alcantara (3.40pm), Taormina (3.50pm) and Messina (5.10pm). Once past the Strait, the Sicilia Express will make drop-off only stops in Salerno (00.31), Roma Tiburtina (3.36), Firenze SMN (7.41), Bologna Centrale (09.34), Modena (10.03), Parma (10.48), Milano Lambrate (12.30) to arrive in Turin Porta Nuova at 2.40pm.
