The redevelopment works of the Modena field “Aldo Penna” have started for a few weeks and proceeded. The mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà carried out an inspection in the future modern and avant -garde sporting facility, accompanied by the deputy mayor and councilor for public works Paolo Brunetti, by the Councilor for Programming Carmelo Romeo, by the city councilor delegated to sport Giovanni Latellafrom the former councilor with delegation to the Pinqua Elisa Zoccaliwho took care of the entire design phase and the start of the works, the RUPs and the managers of the company currently engaged in the construction site.
«It is a great joy, a great satisfaction, a reason for pride. The redevelopment of the Coni camp was a suffered project, but today finally he sees the light – commented the mayor – the construction site is in full business and the Modena district also begins to change his face. The redevelopment of the historic “Aldo Penna” sports facility is underway, with the athletic track that will go from six to eight lanes. The stands will be placed and the stands will be redeveloped, which will be equipped with kiosks and refreshment points: all this will make it possible for the accessibility and approval of the system also for national and international competitions “.
«Another important space intended for sport is rebirth. And it will be a new urban park at the service of competitive activity, for all disciplines of the world of athletics, but also for those who simply want to practice sports, walk or run outdoors. We do it thanks to the Pinqua, with an investment of 15 million euros. It is a job that is already changing the geography of the neighborhoodwho will dialogue with the new field of Ciccarello, today “Simone Neto dell’Acqua” Federal Technical Center “, with the renewed Viola planet, with the Carabinieri Student School, the spaces recovered with the demolition of the former powder keg, with the scientific high school with a sports address Alessandro Volta and its gyms and with the many schools present in that area”.
“Certainly it is not all solved, the problems are there and they must be addressed everyone, but the Modena area is also step by step – Ciccarello is changing and we will continue to follow this construction site together. Only for the city, but throughout the South ».
“I want to thank all those who are working for the realization of this important project – concluded Falcomatà – from our technical offices to the political part, with the deputy mayor Brunetti, the councilor Latella, the commissioner Romeo and the former councilor Elisa Zoccali, who with his tireless work on the Masterplan of the Pinqua Fondi has followed the whole design process and given a decisive impulse at the start of the works”.
The funds used for the redevelopment come from the PNRR, as part of the “Being” program (social equity, residential ecological sustainability), dedicated to the Modena-Ciccarello district. The overall loan, which includes three interventions, the Coni camp, the roads and buildings of the Ciccarello area, amounts to 14,998,000 euros, to which is added the contribution of the fund with the fund.
