Reggio: center-right looking for a table, center-left runs towards the primaries

Today the new Regional Council takes office and the first “collateral effect” for a Reggio erased from the Calabrian chessboard will be to give a decisive acceleration to the choices of the parties towards the now imminent municipal elections. The second “side effect” will be to make the monk-philosopher from Stilo Tommaso Campanella turn in his grave, who – despite being born to eradicate three extreme evils: tyranny, sophistry and hypocrisy – finds his name stuck to the Regional Council Building like an atrocious mockery of fate. The refined thinker from Reggio who idealized the splendid City of the Sun finds himself, however, identified with the home of the highest Calabrian democratic assembly… yet another demonstration that Calabrian politicians are always at the forefront due to their strong sense of humour.
