Yesterdayfollowing an intervention on an alleged person car accident with the investor escaping, the local police arrested a 51 year old citizen.
The viewing of the video surveillance images in fact highlighted the voluntary nature of the collision of a pedestrian of non-EU origin who was regulating parking within a private area of a large commercial establishment. The driver, with a police record, after a verbal altercation with the offended party, got back into the car and drove away very quickly, hitting the pedestrian and dragging him for a few metres. Only a coincidence and the skill of the offended party avoided the worst.
The person was treated at the GOM and discharged with a few days’ prognosis while the investor disappeared. Tracked down by the officers in Viale Aldo Moro at his home, after the usual formalities and after informing the PM on duty, he was declared under arrest and placed under house arrest at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The vehicle was seized.
The proceeding is in the investigation phase and therefore the presumption of innocence applies against the suspect until a final conviction is reached.
