The initiatives launched by the Councilor with delegation to Urban Planning continue, Maria Stefania Caraccioloin agreement with Anci Calabria and with the National Institute of Urban Planning – Calabria section -, aimed at accelerate the approval of new municipal urban planning tools.
In fact, the third of the events scheduled in all the provinces and in the regional metropolitan territory aimed at the Municipalities that started the process of approval of urban planning, without however reaching its conclusion, was held today in Catanzaro in Catanzaro in Catanzaro in Catanzaro in Catanzaro.
The itinerant initiative is not only proposed to raise awareness of the administrations on the topic but also to examine and deepen the problems that have not allowed, after years, to implement the provisions dictated by the regional legislation, in order to provide the appropriate clarifications aimed at facilitating the activity started, allowing a rapid conclusion. The next stage, already scheduled for June 10, aimed at the municipalities of the Vibonese, will be held at the headquarters of the Province of Vibo Valentia.
“The intent of the action started-underlines Maria Stefania Caracciolo-is to collaborate actively with the Municipalities by providing them with those clarifications and those indications necessary to better overcome the technical-burocratic difficulties of each reality; precisely for this reason we are personally meeting any representative of all the Calabrian municipalities who have not yet approved the plans”.
Also in this circumstance, in which the Municipalities of the Province of Catanzaro were involved, the meeting was chaired and introduced by the commissioner Caracciolo which illustrated the importance of the approval of the plans for an orderly and correct development of the territory, the urban fabric and the production system, the purposes of the action started and the further scheduled activities, including the modification of the regional urban planning law to harmonize it, to eliminate doubts and facilitate the application.
The regional managers of the Environment Department and the Urban Planning Sector, Salvatore Siviglia and Pasquale Famile, who have provided an overall picture of the legislation and the activity carried out to date by the Calabrian municipalities also intervened
The president of the regional council, Filippo Mancuso, the president of the Assette and use of the territory and protection of the environment, Pietro Raso, and the president of Inu Calabria, Domenico Passarelli, also took the floor.
The initiative was once again highly appreciated by the mayors and municipal technicians who attended with keen interest, highlighting the problems encountered on which a comparison with the regional representatives that provided the necessary clarifications to overcome them, also in relation to the resolution of the district authority n. 1 of 19 February 2025 with which the terms for the presentation of observations to the new plan of the flood basin of the floods of floods were extended to 31 December 2025; Other issues addressed, those relating to civic uses and strategic environmental evaluation, however not required by the “simplified” procedure.
On this occasion, the contacts of the urban sector have drawn attention to the forms prepared by the Region to facilitate the simplification of the procedures, which can be found on the department’s website.
“I renew the invitation to all the municipalities of Calabria who encounter difficulties in the procedure for approval of urban planning tools – reiterated the commissioner Caracciolo at the end of the meeting – to contact the regional reference offices with the methods illustrated with a specific circular for meetings aimed at overcoming the problems encountered, in order to accelerate the obligations and implement the current regulatory provisions”.
