The recent ruling of the TAR on state -owned concessions in the municipality of Soverato has opened a heated debate between institutions, political representatives and operators in the sector. The administrative court established the non -legitimacy of the extensions granted, reiterating the need for assignment through public tender and compliance with European rules. A decision that generated conflicting reactions and has reported a delicate topic to the center of attention, which directly affects hundreds of companies and workers, a few days after the start of the summer season.
Giuseppe Nucera, president of Assobalneari Calabria – Federturismo Confindustria, highlights the need to find a meeting point for the balance of the sector and in compliance with the rules.
“The Ranieri company represents a flagship of our territory. It is a solid reality, which has invested with seriousness, generating work and contributing to the economic and tourist growth of our region. As a Assobalneari Calabria, we reiterate that companies must always be protected: behind each concession there are families, employees, skills and a production system that must be preserved”.
“The Ranieri Group – continues Nucera – is an example of healthy and forward -looking entrepreneurship, capable of looking beyond the regional borders and exporting its model also abroad. The determination demonstrated by Dr. Azzurra Ranieri is testimony to the company attachment to Calabria and the value that these companies represent for the territory”.
“Local administrations – he adds – have a duty to accompany the growth of the entrepreneurial fabric with balance and common sense, avoiding rigid or conflicting attitudes that only risk feeding tensions and uncertainty. Dialogue and shared solutions are needed, not clashes”.
“Our hope – Nucera concludes – is that we can find a concrete output route, which allows to guarantee continuity to the work of the operators, in full compliance with current regulations and judgments. The laws must be respected, as well as the decisions of the courts, but we cannot ignore that the context has profoundly changed. The administrations must take note of it and adapt, in the interest of the entire community. To protect a strategic sector such as the seaside sector, essential for the economy of Calabria “.
