An (almost) “coat” in the province of Reggio Calabria, large victories in those of Catanzaro and Crotone, less pronounced success in the Vibo area and “sweaty” in the Cosentino. The analysis of the regional vote provides public opinion and professionals with some interesting data which deserves some reflection with a cool head. The scholar Michele Mercuri, who has always been attentive to Calabrian electoral dynamics, put the data and percentages in line.
Some examples help to better understand the scope of the work accomplished. The re-elected Roberto Occhiuto receives a plebiscite in the province of the Strait: prevailing in 92 municipalities against the 5 of the challenger Pasquale Tridico. At the other extreme, however, is the province of Cosenza: here the centre-right candidate wins in 94 centres, while the five-star MEP in 56.
