The restyling works of the municipal cemetery of San Giovanni in Fiore will start in the next few days, For an amount of about 170 thousand euros. This was announced by the mayor Rosaria Succurro, who underlines the importance of the intervention in terms of urban regeneration and respect for the sacred place of the deceased. «We have good news to share. After completing the construction of the new niches, in a few days – declares the mayor – we will begin the work of accommodation of the avenues and sidewalks of the cemetery. It is a work that we consider important and necessary, because the Camposanto is a sacred place, to which decoration and care must be guaranteed ».
The municipal administration led by Succurro had immediately made the commitment to give further dignity to the cemetery, through a series of targeted interventions. “Our intent – says the first town – is to make this resting place even more collected and peace, so that pain can turn into relief memory. This too, for us, is an act of urban regeneration ». These works represent another piece of the Succurro administration project, aimed at combining development and attention to the material and immaterial heritage of the city. «San Giovanni in Fiore needs beauty and dignity everywhere. Taking care of the cemetery means – concludes the mayor – respect the collective history and the people who preceded us ».
