Disventure with a happy ending for a 32 -year -old young man of Ukrainian nationality, residing in Crotone, missing late yesterday afternoon in the woods of the Silano plateaunear Lake Ampollino, on the border between the provinces of Cosenza and Crotone.
The alarm went off around 10:20 pm, when the reporting of the disappearance came to the Carabinieri of Petilia Policastro (KR). Research operations were immediately activated that involved the Fire Brigade teams of the detachments of San Giovanni in Fiore (CS) and Petilia Policastro (KR).
The specialized nuclei also intervened to support the operating units: the Tas units (topography applied to rescue) with the UCL medium (local command unit) by Cosenza, the dog units of the Basilicata firefighters and the SAPR (remotely piloted aircraft system) of Calabria and Basilicata.
Thanks to the location of the telephone cells hooked by the mobile phone of the missing, the searches continued all night. Around 5:00 in the morning a sweater belonging to the young man was found, a signal that confirmed the correctness of the identified area.
The positive epilogue arrived at 10 am this morning, when the firefighters found the 32 -year -old, tried but in good health after the long hours spent among the bush. The man was immediately reassured and accompanied to the local command unit, where he was entrusted to the health workers of Suem 118 for the necessary checks. Subsequently he was able to embrace his relatives and friends.
A complex and well coordinated intervention, which ended in the best way thanks to the joint commitment of the rescue forces.
