The Air company Ryanair celebrate the 45 million passengers in Bologna since it landed in the city in 2008 and announced today the 'Summer'24' plan on Bologna, with 65 routes including three new ones for Olbia, Reggio Calabria and Tirana, as well as an increase in weekly frequencies on more than 10 routes, including Barcelona, ​​Ibiza, Mykonos, Krakow, Bucharest, Sofia, Vienna. Additionally, Ryanair will base 11 planes at Bologna Airport – a $1.1 billion investment – supporting 3,500 jobs, including 330 “well-paid” ones for pilots, cabin crew and engineers. Ryanair's country manager for Italy and the Eastern Mediterranean, Mauro Bolla, said: «As the number one airline in Italy and Bologna, Ryanair is delighted to celebrate 45 million passengers in Bologna and to announce the new exciting plan for Bologna. This growth is supported by Ryanair's commitment to Bologna Airport, with the installation of 11 aircraft representing an investment of 1.1 billion dollars.”

The Business Aviation and Communication director of Bologna Airport, Antonello Bonolis, declared: «We are happy to celebrate the 45 million total passengers reached by Ryanair in Bologna from 2008 to today, a truly important result for the airport and for the territory, with positive consequences for the mobility of people and goods and for the tourist operators of Bologna and the entire Emilia-Romagna region”. «Summer 2024 – he says – is particularly rich for our passengers, even in a period characterized by a series of infrastructure works inside the terminal to expand the spaces at security checks and boarding gates.
