The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Cosenza, on the occasion of the Halloween celebrations, seized over 56,000 unsafe products.
An inspection at a commercial business managed by ethnic Chinese citizens made it possible to find within the sales aisles over 56 thousand products including masks, decorative accessories and bead kits to compose necklaces for the Halloween party, results lacking useful information for the consumer in Italian, information from the importer/distributor, the place of production, the content of dangerous materials or substances and related disposal methods, or with technical characteristics that do not correspond to what is stated on the packaging.
Due to their shape, the numerous seized items, among the most coveted and used during Halloween night, if placed on the consumer market would have caused a real danger to the health and safety of potential buyers, mostly teenagers.
All the products found and intended for sale, including through large-scale retail trade, were therefore immediately subjected to administrative seizure, and the legal representative of the company reported to the Cosenza Chamber of Commerce for the application of administrative sanctions of up to approximately 25,000 euros.
