Maestro Riccardo Chailly spent the night in the Monzino Cardiology Centre, having fallen ill yesterday while conducting ‘A lady Macbeth of the Mcesk district’ at La Scala in Milan. The values, explained his wife Gabriella in a message forwarded to the orchestra teachers, are good. Today his therapy will be changed. The director was ill during the performance and for this reason the Theater decided to interrupt and not continue the staging. The announcement was made after the second interval of the opera which last December 7th inaugurated the season of the temple of opera with eleven minutes of applause.
