Seaside season in Calabria, at the Cittadella the meeting of the Consultative Committee

The councilor for work and professional training, Giovanni Calabreseparticipated in the meeting of the Consultative Committee on the rules for the exercise of the delegation of administrative functions on the areas of the maritime state property (pursuant to art. 5 of the regional law no. 17/2005), chaired by the general manager of the Environment Department, Salvatore Seville.

At the meeting that took place at the Cittadella headquarters in Catanzaro, regional managers also intervened, Roberto Cosentinoof the Eua enhancement and promotion of the natural heritage, Gabriele Alttomanager of the sector promotion and protection of nature and the sea – maritime state property, and the general manager of Arpacal, Michelangelo Iannone.

Among others, the mayors of the coastal municipalities delegated by the regional ANCI, the representatives of the most representative bathing associations in the area were present.

During the meeting, also useful for collecting the requests of operators relating to the 2025 seaside season, the Calabrian councilor illustrated the initiatives put in place by the Calabria Region and addressed the main issues subjected to representatives of the trade associations.

Specifically, there was talk of maritime state concessions and the role of bathers; approval of the municipal beach plans for coastal municipalities; the notice for the granting of contributions for the cleaning of the beaches, currently being published; of the Kaire notice for seasonal work, of the start of the process for the regulatory modification of the regional law on the maritime state property.

The comparison highlighted the need for an active contribution and the participation of all the bearers present at the table, in order to guarantee effective and shared management of the topics covered.

In this sense, Calabrian underlined the importance of synergy between institutions and associations to identify effective and sustainable strategies. In particular, the need was reiterated to improve coastal management through the definition of the municipal beach plans, now adopted by about half of the Calabrian coastal municipalities.

The participants highlighted the critical issues that afflict the seaside sector in Calabria and the need to trace shared paths with public bodies and institutions, to encourage the best use of the sea resource, and to continue on the path taken with the periodic convocation of the Committee.
