On the weekend of 14 and 15 June, the Catanzaro Scuderia New Generation Racing presented itself at the start in two competitive commitments. The 48th Catania Etna and the 2⁰ Slalom of Bagnara Calabra, saw the NGR drivers engaged in important challenges. Praise to the drivers of the stable at the start, which in their own way have made honor with important placements.
At Etna was at the start Francesco Ferragina That, solved the problems of Sortino, managed to conquer a third place in class in E2SC-SS 1600 and a sixth overall place, aboard his Elia Avrio. Ferragina has returned to running to Catania – Etna after so many years, but the enthusiasm has remained the same and in her he did everything to grab a commendable result. The Etna race was valid for the South Civm.
The declarations of the Catanzaro Francesco Ferragina in the post race: “As far as I’m concerned, I am quite satisfied, especially compared to Sortino, where we were not at the top because of some problems. Here instead we have grown slowly, also thanks to these new Hoosier covers, with which we had to adapt the car to make the most of the rubber that behaved well. I will certainly take this podium in a positive way, given that on the regulatory level we are penalized with the weight compared to the others. Rethinking the race I would say good, even if in the second heats because of a problem that came towards the end I risked something, but everything went well and this is what matters.
The Slalom of Bagnara also took place on the weekend, with the race that was valid for the ACI Slalom Cup of Zone 4 and for the Challenge Slalom Calabria. The stable showed up with an excellent number in tow.
Victory in E2SS 1150 and Absolute Fourth place for Nicola Paola Almirantewhich on Wolf GB08 faced a linear and growing race.
Seventh place overall and second place in class E2SC 1600 for Cosentino Eugenio Scalerciowho in his own way tried to bring home a good result and in the end he found the top ten on his Osella PA21 J. The Bagnara race for Scalercio, above all served as a test to understand if the problems had in Fasano have been solved and to have the car ready for the next commitments.
Great race in group E1 for Saverio Barberiowho won the 1150 class on his Fiat 127. Barberio then collected a nice third place of group and touched the absolute top ten for nothing, but as usual he proved competitive.
Always in the same group, good race also for Andrea Caroleo who placed himself a quarter of a group and triumphed in class 1600 Turbo with his Renault 5 GTT. A race that certainly more and more certainties in Caroleo on his own value.
Fifth place of group and victory in class +2000 for Rosario Scerbo who on Renault 5 led with a nice rhythm taking the deserved satisfactions. Always in the same class, second place for Antonio Canino on Renault 5.
In group A, the race of Alberto De Gregorio who conquered a third place in 1150, touching, among other things, the second place for nothing in a class that has proven to be fought. De Gregorio with his Fiat Seicento Sporting demonstrates more and more confidence and a good approach.
Among 2000, bitter retreat for Pasquale Pirroncello on his Renault Clio.
In the N Group, a profitable race for Domenico Brandwhich on the Peugeot 106 of class 1600 found a second group and class. A good test that of the Tyrol driver, who redeems himself from those touched podiums and who had tried to conquer previously with commitment and was right.
Nice podium in RS 1400 for Francesco Pio Santisewhich on his Peugeot 106 carried out a good race from the point of view of the approach, also going to place sixth of category, confirming the growth of the Catanzaro.
In the Scuderia, the New Generation Racing in Bagnara placed second in the trophy reserved for them.
