A nineteen-year-old arrested because he was guilty of aggravated theft committed against an elderly woman. The Reggio Calabria Police officers caught him in the act.
The victim, in promptly alerting the police with the phone of a passerby, reported that his bag had been stolen, inside which there were various personal documents, a smartphone, the ATM and around 40 euros in cash , while walking along a street in the southern area of the city.
The precise physical description of the pickpocket provided by the 67-year-old, as well as the indication of the escape direction taken by the same, allowed the police officers of the Volante to identify the criminal in a few minutes who, after being searched, he was wearing the woman’s cell phone hidden in his underwearwhile another crew found the bag with the other personal effects nearby.
The subject, a 19-year-old recipient of an oral warning and obligation to report to the PG, already known due to his countless police precedents and recent recognitions that see him as the protagonist of thefts and robberies, was arrested for the crime of theft with multiple snatches aggravated and the Judicial Authority applied the measure of the obligation to reside in the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, with a prescription not to leave the home in the evening and night hours, also applying the measure of the obligation to report to the PG twice per day for every day of the week.
