A 14-year-old Florida boy shot and killed his 23-year-old sister after an argument over Christmas presents.. The discussion, according to initial reconstructions, began while shopping with his mother and another 15-year-old brother, but continued at his grandmother’s house, in a town near Tampa. It was there that the 14-year-old pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and pointed it at his brother.
Luckily other relatives managed to separate them but at that point he went out into the garden where his sister was with her six-year-old son and threatened them both with death. His sister, who evidently hadn’t taken him seriously, asked him several times to put the gun down and stop because “it’s Christmas”. In response he shot her in the chest and killed her. The child was unharmed. The other brother came out with another gun and in turn shot the killer, who has undergone surgery and is not in serious condition. He is accused of murder and illegal possession of a weapon. Both boys had prior convictions for robberies.
