Since the 17 center-right snipers rejected half of the quater maneuver, the Ars has met only once, on Tuesday. And the next attempt won’t happen until next Tuesday. At that point October will have slipped away with a zero, or almost zero, under the laws approved heading. Everything that has been on the launch pad for months has remained in the drawers.
The point is that, beyond the constant postponements, the agenda now only includes routine bills: mostly to cover off-budget debts. There is no trace of reforms and in general of the measures announced in recent months.
Of one in particular: «The time between this phase and the arrival of the 2026 Budget could be used to approve the reform of local authorities which includes the law that introduces the obligation for mayors to have at least 40% female councilors on their councils», proposed Marianna Caronia (We Moderates) yesterday. Which also put local police reform on the table.
But the answer from the majority was a firm no: according to Fratelli d’Italia and Forza Italia there is no time to discuss such complex texts given that the Budget will arrive in a few weeks.
