Sofia Goggia wins the 2025/26 super-G World Cup and puts the crystal ball of the specialty on the showcase for the first time in her career. The 33-year-old from Bergamo of the Fiamme Gialle closes the accounts in Kvitfjell and adds another piece to her palmarès after the four Downhill Cups already won.

The first super-G Cup of his career

For Goggia, this is the first triumph in the super-G specialty ranking, after the successes obtained in the downhill in the 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons. The Italian, Olympic champion in freestyle in 2018 and bronze in Milan-Cortina, succeeds the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami in the roll of honor and becomes the second Italian ever to win the specialty cup in the women’s super-G after Federica Brignone, who achieved the result in 2021/22.

Italy and successes in the specialty

Between the men’s and women’s sectors, Italsci thus rises to four overall victories in the specialty. In the women’s field, the winners are Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone, while among the men the super-G crystal ball was won by Peter Runggaldier in the 1994-95 season and Dominik Paris in 2018-19.
