The municipal administration of Vibo Valentia, represented by the mayor Enzo Romeo and by the Councilor delegated to the port Silvio Pisani, He met, yesterday, the leaders of the Port System Authority of the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Tyrrhenian Seas and the Southern Petroli. It was a preparatory meeting at the technical table already called up by the Prefect for May 27th.
The meeting was attended by: the Secretary General Pasquale Faraoneon behalf of the Port Authority, and the director Giuseppe Russo and the engineer Luca Rinaldi, the latter delegate for the relocation of the President Donato Kilbed, For the Southern Petroli society. The object of the meeting, the solutions to be adopted to achieve the stated goal: the relocation of coastal deposits of the southern petrol.
The mayor Romeo and the councilor Pisani, following what has already been expressed in previous meetings, have reiterated the vision of the administration on the future of the site that currently hosts the deposits. A different vision compared to the industrial one, oriented towards the natural vocation of the territory of Vibo Marina which is the tourist one, as for anything else – has been pointed out – has long requires citizenship, so much so that the popular will has turned into a city council resolution approved unanimously.
Concept made precisely by the port system authority, with Pharaoh who agreed on a tourist-recreational-receptive vocation, unlike the industrial one that no longer finds compliance in current affairs.
By the Municipality, maximum willingness to discuss the theme has been expressed both with the Region and with the regional development agency of industrial areas (Arsai); At the same time, the mayor also showed great attention to the employment aspect, declaring The will by the Municipality to travel all possible roads so that there are no repercussions on the workers.
On a technical level, responding to the requests of the engineer Rinaldi on how and where to relocatethe Municipality has advanced two proposalsboth obviously contemplate the stay in the municipal area of the establishments. The first, strongly desired, involves the creation of a buoy at sea, very far from the coasts, connected with submarine pipes, bypassing the beaches; The second, on the other hand, provides for the realization of conduct under the city streets; this hypothesis, which entails authorizations and possible delays, as well as potential inconvenience. This is why the municipality warms up the first option, which, although it requires more environmental authorizations, is still more faster.
In the meantime, the administration has asked to change the aesthetic aspect of the silos that overlook the beaches of Vibo Marina to obtain a more pleasant and less impactful aspect, and above all asked for the possibility of obtaining a subsidized rate for residents regarding the cost of fuel, as happens in other parts of Italy.
