Pursuit and arrest this afternoon on the Roccalumera seafront. A 29-year-old Romanian national, domiciled in Furci Siculo, was stopped by the police for stealing a car in the neighboring municipality of Nizza di Sicilia. Having received the report, two patrols from the Santa Teresa di Riva Army Station and the Radiomobile Unit of the Taormina Company began looking for the vehicle and shortly after the fugitive was intercepted in the southern area of Roccalumerawhere he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot but was reached shortly afterwards on the seafront. A patrol from the local barracks also arrived on site and the 29-year-old was then taken under arrest to Taormina hospital for checks on his health conditions.
