A lava overflow that from the northern crater area of Stromboli is feeding a lava flow in the upper part of the Sciara del Fuoco was observed from 8am this morning by the surveillance cameras of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Etna Observatory, in Catania. The overflow is accompanied by continuous spattering activity from at least two vents in the northern crater area. Explosive activity is continuing in the southern crater area. From a seismic point of view, the volcanic tremor does not show significant variations, oscillating within the range of average values. There are no particularly large explosions and the frequency of occurrence has remained unchanged in the last few hours. Data from ground deformation monitoring networks do not show significant variations.
