Italy of water sports reached the podium in water polo thanks to the bronze medal from Setterosa, in diving with two bronze medals (Bertocchi-Pellacani synchro trampoline and Pellacani-Santoro synchro mixed trampoline), in artistic swimming with two silver medals (technical duo Cerruti-Ruggiero and team technical team), in cross-country swimming (4×1.5km relay gold with Pozzobon, Taddeucci, Acerenza and Paltrinieri, Paltrinieri silver in the 5km, Acerenza bronze in the 5km), and in swimming (Ceccon gold in the 50m butterfly, silver 4×100 freestyle with Miressi, Frigo, Zazzeri and Ceccon, silver with Martinenghi in the 100m breaststroke, silver with Quadarella in the 1500m freestyle, and silver with Ceccon in the 100m backstroke).
