The Municipality of Taormina has officially emerged from the financial crisis declared three years ago. This was made known by the extraordinary liquidation body, composed of the president Lucio Catania and the members Tania Giallongo and Maria Di Nardo, during a demonstration in the Municipal Palace. «This journey, which lasted three years – said Catania – was undoubtedly difficult and intense, but full of satisfaction. We closed the Taormina crisis in record time: a short search is enough to discover that there are municipalities that take six, seven or eight years to emerge from the crisis, or that have not even succeeded yet. The credit – explained Catania – is not only ours: we were able to work thanks to the financial availability provided by the Administration, which allowed us to be credible towards creditors. The real source of pride is the fact that we have resolved 90% of the disputes, including the well-known Impregilo award.” «When we arrived – recalled the mayor Cateno De Luca – we immediately asked for a discussion with the Body and we asked ourselves how it was possible to get out of the crisis in the shortest possible time. The crucial point was the definition of the Impregilo award and the certainty of the necessary sums. This led us to the editorial team of ‘Salva Taormina'”.
