Tragedy in Chambave, in Valle d’Aosta, where a 54 -year -old man lost his life while it was engaged in some construction works. The victim, Antonio Maiorano, owner of a small individual company, was carrying out maintenance interventions on the roof of a house when he fell to the ground from a height of about three meters.
The accident occurred on the afternoon of last Friday, but the exact dynamics of what happened remains in the assessment phase. According to the first information collected, it is not yet clear whether the man has fallen due to a sudden illness or if he has lost his balance during work operations.
To alert the rescue was the owner of the house, which immediately called the emergency number in an attempt to obtain help. The 118 health workers, the carabinieri and the staff of Spresal, the prevention and safety service in the workplace were quickly intervened on the spot. Unfortunately, every attempt to revive the man proved to be vain and for him there was nothing to do.
Law enforcement agencies and workplace safety inspectors have started investigations to clarify the causes of the fall and verify compliance with the safety rules provided for this type of interventions.
